CONFIDENTIALITY
Information shared in therapy is confidential and cannot be released without the written or verbal consent of the individual (or both parties in the case of couples’ therapy). However, according to the laws of the State of Texas, there are specific times when confidentiality may be broken without your consent. Information may be released:
WORKSHOP CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made more than 30 days before the retreat date will be refunded, less a $199.00 fee. Cancellations made 7-30 days before the retreat will result in loss of half of the full retreat price. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the retreat date will result in loss of the full payment.
END OF THERAPY
You may discontinue therapy at any time. Determining when to end therapy is typically a mutual decision between a client and therapist once the goals are met. If you are thinking of ending therapy early, please discuss your concerns about the therapy before making a final decision. Referrals to alternate sources of treatment can be provided.
FEES
Fees for services are given to you before the start of therapy. These fees are due when the service is provided. Cash, credit cards and checks are accepted. I do not accept insurance, but am willing to negotiate costs based on your current situation. I am also able to see you in alternating weeks to help with financial concerns. Statements can be provided for you to file with your insurance company, if out–of-network provider services are an option. You will need to call your insurance company to confirm this arrangement. Any unpaid balance may be turned over to a collection agency after you have been so informed and given an opportunity to pay.
ETHICAL CONCERNS
Questions and concerns can arise in our relationship, just as in any other relationship. If you are not satisfied with any area of our work, please raise your concerns with me at once. Our work together will be more productive if your concerns with me are resolved. I will make every effort to hear any complaints you have and to seek solutions to them. If you feel that I have (or any other therapist has) treated you unfairly or broken a professional rule, please tell me.
You can also contact the state or local psychological association and speak to the chairperson of the ethics committee. He or she can help clarify your concerns or instruct you in filing a complaint. You may also contact the Texas State Board of Psychologist Examiners, the organization that licenses independent practitioners in psychology, at (512) 305-7700.
